The members of our Social Planning Committee coordinate participation by members in periodic events where people with disabilities access recreational resources in the community. ADA supports these events by advocating for access and accommodation, by supporting use of transportation and by encouraging entertainment and recreation facilities to reach out and market to the disability community. The Alliance has a Deaf Outreach Coordinator who makes sure our core services are accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing population. deafoutreach@adacil.org
The Alliance assists people to learn to advocate for themselves. We do this through education, training and peer support. ADA also advocates for change with systems advocacy. advocacy@adacil.org

STAR - Student Transition Advocacy ResourceThe transition needs of students with disabilities are often complex. Under a grant from the NJ Department of Education, Office of Special Education, the Alliance is expanding our capacity to provide IL services to students with disabilities aged 14-21. To accomplish this goal, the Alliance is also providing support and services to parents and school districts in Middlesex, Somerset and Union Counties. transition@adacil.org
