On the evening of August 24th, ACI and friends went to What’s the Scoop ice cream parlor in Metuchen, NJ. The ice cream and pizza were topnotch! Numerous homemade flavors to choose from left everyone happy with their choice. It was good to see some old friends that came back to join us and a few new faces that we hope will continue to come and have fun with us. Thank you so much to the staff of What’s the Scoop for making the night great!
On the evening of July 12th, ACI attended a Plays in the Park production of Mamma Mia! It was a fantastic night of great acting and singing the hit songs of ABBA. This musical, as with all the Plays in the Park productions, had fantastic stage design, costumes, and music. Thank you to the Plays in the Park staff for making it a great night. Lastly, thank you Jackie Neill for your years of service and all the help you have given ACI over the years!
On the evening of May 17th, friends of ACI attended a fantastic George Street Playhouse production of The Nerd. This wacky comedy had everyone laughing from opening curtain to the final bow. Jonathan Kite played Rick Steadman the unwanted house guest of Willum Cubbert played by Colin Hanlon. The small but talented cast were seasoned actors with credits from TV shows to Broadway. The small stage with a single setting of Willum Cubbert’s living room made the audience feel like they had a window into the characters’ lives. Thank you to the staff of George Street Playhouse including Jaci D'Ulisse and Lolly Schenck for making our night run so smoothly. This show is a must see for those who want to laugh!
ACI participants met on the evening of Friday, April 27th to take part in a paper airplane making contest. The contestants spent the evening trying designs out to see which flew the best. Some tried designs provided to them while others forged their own creative solutions. In the end, Renea had the plane that flew the farthest at 25 feet and Taylor created the most original design. Thanks to PeopleCare Center for Nonprofits of Bridgewater for providing the space for our event!
On the evening of April 19th, ACI took a trip to Dave & Buster’s in the Woodbridge Center Mall. This venue was a lively place to spend a fun evening with friends! Participants enjoyed a good meal and then were able to take part in the games the arcade had to offer. All that attended enjoyed the experience. On February 9th, ACI provided a night of creativity inspired by love at the PeopleCare Center for Nonprofits in Bridgewater, NJ. Participants gathered together and made Valentine’s Day cards for their loved ones. Everyone had a fun time making a mess and creating a card for someone special!
