Since 2016, the ACI Food Pantry has been assisting individuals with disabilities and their families. The CommUnity Market is our reimagined food pantry, emphasizing consumer choice and customer service while continuing to assist individuals in our community facing food insecurity.

The CommUnity Market will also provide training to individuals with disabilities interested in working in the retail business.

CommUnity Market Rules

In order for the store to run smoothly, we ask that you abide by the following rules:

  • The Market is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11 AM to 4 PM BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call 732-738-4388 to schedule an appointment. We cannot accommodate Walk-Ins.

  • Please try to give us at least one day’s notice to prepare for your visit.

  • Please call our office if you need to cancel your appointment.

  • Please arrive ON TIME for your scheduled appointment. Consistently late arrivals may result in losing your access to the Market.

  • Shopping in the Market is limited to once per week.

  • You can only shop for yourself and family members who share your household.

  • Please be mindful we are a small market with a limited availability of food.

  • Please take only one meat item per week.

  • Please bring your own shopping bags.

  • If the rules are not followed, ACI has the right to suspend your privileges.

  • Please be respectful of our staff and volunteers.

  • ACI staff are available to assist with additional community resources.

CommUnity Market Application (ON hold)

Due to overwhelming response, the ACI CommUnity Market membership is currently at capacity. We cannot accept more applications at this time. Your application will be kept on file and you will be put on the waiting list. As soon as ACI is able to accommodate more members, you will be notified and given access to the Market.

If you are facing food insecurity, we recommend that you visit the Middlesex County website to access other nearby food pantries (click on “REPLENISH Directory” for the list of food pantry locations).

ASSISTANCE DURING THE PANDEMIC

The ACI CommUnity Market is open during the COVID-19 pandemic. We still continue to get donations of food and are fully stocked with canned vegetables, fresh milk, peanut butter, bread, water, and other essential items. We also have a limited number of masks and gloves.

Please call 732-738-4388 to schedule an appointment for curbside pickup outside of the ACI office, located at 629 Amboy Ave, Edison, NJ.

ACI strictly adheres to CDC and state health department guidelines regarding social distancing and maintaining virus-free environments.
