Best Life Ever

The Alliance Center for Independence is excited to launch Best Life Ever, a new life skills program designed for individuals with developmental disabilities who need hands-on support to become more independent and self-sufficient.

Building on the success of ACI’s Living My Best Life program, Best Life Ever offers practical training in essential daily living skills such as personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and household maintenance. The program also highlights key social skills to help participants strengthen relationships and improve overall life satisfaction.

This 17-week program combines instruction with hands-on practice in areas like cooking, cleaning, shopping, online and community safety, communicating with health professionals, and even sewing on a button. Goals include greater confidence, independence and quality of life at home, in supported living environments, and in the community.

Applications are due by September 6th.

Living My Best Life

We are thrilled to announce that ACI's Living My Best Life (LMBL) workshop series is back and better than ever! The new and improved curriculum-based program is now accepting applications for the upcoming group starting on March 4th.

If you or a loved one is a disabled adult between the ages of 21 and 35, and wanting to learn the skills and resources to live independently, then this program may be perfect for you!

This 18 session program, covers a wide range of essential life skills, including Problem Solving, Safety at Home, and Financial Literacy, to name a few. Our program is limited to only 6 participants per class, ensuring an individualized and effective learning experience.

Applications are due by February 12th.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel and 6 participants will be selected, so don't wait to apply!

The cost for LMBL is $2500. Please see application for payment options.

Community Living Skills

For DDD - Community Based Supports Consumers only.

ACI is currently accepting new participants for our Community Living Skills program. This 10 session program is designed to teach people with disabilities independent living skills.

Topics will include:

  • Disability Identity

  • Self-Advocacy

  • Self-Care

  • Housing

  • Budgeting and Finance

  • Healthy Relationships

  • Transportation

  • Time Management

Limited to 10 participants.
