NJ SNAP

Experiencing food insecurity? Having trouble paying for your groceries?

NJ's Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program (NJ SNAP) can help!

NJ SNAP provides food assistance to families with low incomes to help them buy groceries through a benefits card accepted in most food retail stores and some farmers markets. Eligibility is set by several factors, such as income and resources. You can use your SNAP benefits to stretch your food budget and buy nutritious foods that can keep you and your family healthy.

For more information, visit the NJ SNAP website.

The federal government shut down on October 1, 2025. This will not affect your October 2025 Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food assistance benefits, you will still receive your benefits at your regular time.

Continue to visit this page for ongoing updates on how the federal shutdown may impact your SNAP benefits. If you have specific questions about your case, contact your County Social Service Agency (CSSA).
