Presentation on the History and Importance of the Year 1968

Cooking Demonstration Provided by Wegmans

ACI wishes to thank Wegmans and Chef Jeff for his terrific cooking demonstration this past Friday. Participants learned how to make a delicious summer salad with fresh Jersey-grown ingredients. Everyone received a Wegmans bag filled with everything needed to make simple salad at home. Thank you to Wegmans for their support to our independent living program and we hope to have Jeff back soon!

Rutgers Master Gardeners and Volunteers Prep ACI Garden for the Summer!

ACI welcomed Rutgers Master Gardener, Jerri Barclay, on the afternoon of June 22nd. ACI volunteers worked with Jerri to plant this years ACI tomato and vegetable garden. Thank you Jerri, for your gardening tips and help putting our garden in order. We look forward to working with her again and her fellow Master Gardner, Ann Ryder, at our next gardening event August 21st from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Workshops on Customer Service and Employment at Starbucks

ACI was honored to have the managers and partners of the local Starbucks share their expertise at two customer service workshops held on June 1st. The workshops were geared towards transition-aged students as well as adults, and also included information on the benefits of working at the coffee shop. Rutgers Presentation About Adaptive Scuba Diving

Members of the newly-formed ACI Turtle Scuba Club listens to a presentation by Debby Miller, Scuba Coordinator and Scuba Instructor, and Caroline Willardof the Adaptive Scuba Program at Rutgers University. The purpose of this information session was to learn about the certification programs and experiences offered through Rutgers for those with individuals with disabilities. The club is arranging to have a scuba discovery experience at the Olympic size pool at Rutgers in Piscataway.
