Are you a disabled and a resident of Middlesex County? Are you concerned about disasters and recovery?

Approximately 50 people, including supporters, friends, board members and sponsors, attended ACI's Open House held on January 11th. The event, Making Spirits Bright, featured a photo slide show highlighting our recent activities and a ceremony honoring those individuals and organizations that contributed to ACI's success over the past few years. Honored at the Open House were: NJ Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling, La Bonbonniere Bake Shoppes of Edison, Guaranteed Rate Mortgage, Brownstone Pancake Factory and Diner, and Konica Minolta. Alcides (Al) Gomez of Perth Amboy received the ACI volunteer award for his many years of dedicated service.
ACI would like to thank Melissa Powers, of the law firm of Hinkle, Fingles, Prior & Fischer, for her informative presentation on guardianship and special needs trusts. This workshop was geared towards parents of transition age children. This is the second part in a series of workshops and information sessions hosted by ACI devoted to the issues of parents of children with disabilities.
